Everyone has their own way of making a pork roast, all of which I am sure are truly delicious. Here is my version:

Season the roast on all sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder(not garlic salt!) Brown the roast on all sides in a skillet in 2 tbsp of oil or shortening. Place the roast in a oven proof dish and bake at 325 until the internal temperature reaches 160 on a meat thermometer. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 or 15 minutes before you slice it.

I always preheat my oven to 500 deg. then turn it down to 350 after I put any roast in. If you are basting it with anything (I like a combo of apple cider and brandy, hard cider or beer) baste after 30 mins then every 15 there after until the internal tempiture is between 155 and 160 F. Let it rest for 30 befor serving. It should take 2-3 hours.

I would say around an hour. You should use a meat thermometer to make sure though. Pork should be 140 degrees.
