It doesn't have anything to do with his ankle....he probably scratched his little eyeball on something.
This can resolve itself without a visit to the vet IF you are faithful about applying an antibacterial optical ointment twice a day. Just hold his little face up, and squeeze it close to the eyeball. But start treating it immediately; if the infection gets too far along, you may end up at the vet's anyways for an antibacterial injection. Hope he's Ok soon.

Hi there...please consider ringing your veterinarian to help to determine if your cat has an eye infection which requires a prescription to medically treat safely. Your vet can ask a set of questoins to better make an accurate diagnosis as there are many possible causes for the gooey eyes. Any over the counter eye drops for humans can cause blindness in cats so it's best to avoid these at all costs.

what does a sprained ankle have to do with the eye? and eye infections are not deadly, though you need to treat it so that your cat doesn't lose sight in that eye. GO TO THE VET.

He has an eye infection, nothing serious to worry about if treated. Clean his eye twice a day with a warm damp cloth to remove the ooze. Then put an OTC cat eye gel in his eye. I forgot the name of the brand, but your local pet store should carry it. It's inexpensive, but works wonders in 48 hrs. But of coarse no he is not going to die!! My friends cat had one and it got over it in like 2-3 days.
Good luck with your cat!

It sounds like maybe an eye infection or something in the eye so you should take him to the vet. They will probably give you some eye drops or ointment. He should be fine after that.
