Yes - sooo goood! I'm glad to hear that other people do this - my husband and kids think I'm crazy when I do it. It gets all warm and melty - wonderfull with syrup poured over the top. I occasionally sprinkle some cinnamon on too or make cinnamon oatmeal pancakes and slather 'em up.

Banana Pancakes
c.1997, M.S. Milliken & S. Feniger, all rights reserved
1 1/2 cups allpurpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 large egg
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
About 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 ripe bananas, cut into 1/3-inch slices

Sift together the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, buttermilk, milk and melted butter. Add the dry ingredients. Stir until the flour disappears, being careful not to overbeat the batter.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Melt 1/2 tablespoon of the butter in a large castiron skillet over medium heat. Ladle about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan for each pancake. Immediately press 4 or 5 banana slices into each, so the batter oozes slightly over the fruit. Cook until bubbles appear and then flip and cook on the other side, about 3 minutes total. Transfer the pancakes to a platter and keep warm in the oven while you cook the remaining batches, adding butter to the pan as needed.

:)

well you sound like you are talking about what my mom did . she put corn syrup into peanut butter and stirred it sometimes also a little butter. nothing worse than dry tasting peanut butter on the top of your mouth, also some whip up marshmallow cream in it instead of the peanut butter. do the proportions by taste. i have never heard of egg whites though

I've heard of putting peanut butter and light karo corn syrup on pancakes. I tried it before, it was pretty darn good.

That sounds really good. When I was pregnant I used to put peanut butter on vanilla ice cream.

nope, but my husband once made pancakes with peanut butter in them... they tasted pretty good.
I prefer vanilla in my pancakes and cinnamon & sugar on top. Yum!

I can't think of a single thing that peanut butter hasn't been used on.
