I have a relative who "needs" her Coca-Cola or she suffers from the "caffeine withdrawal" you're experiencing (headaches), but it's important that you make sure to drink a lot of water to flush your system, otherwise you'll end up with kidney stones. Those are not fun, trust me! The body needs water too!

As for your "addiction" I haven't seen any negative side effects in my aunt (so far) and she's in her mid-fifties now and has had this Cola "habit" for as long as I've known her (I'm 25, so that's over 25 years of this addition). Still, it's better to be safe than sorry and monitor your health.

It's empty calories - tons of sugar with little to no nutrional value. Coke is also very acidic - it's quite bad for the enamel on your teeth. The caffeine is what is causing the headaches. You can either try to go "cold turkey" and put up the headaches until the withdrawal passes. Or, gradually reduce the amount of Coke that you're drinking. If you're at 4 per day, cut back to 3. Then, in a couple of weeks cut back to 2, and so on.

4 cokes is about 600 calories per day, which is about 1/3 to 1/4 of the calories you are probably using. This means that 1/4 of the food you are eating is doing absolutely nothing for you, and is harming you. It means that you aren't getting nutrients that are required for healthy hair, skin, and bones, and will likely end up being stored as energy/fat. The headaches you get when not drinking the coke can either be sugar withdrawal or caffeine withdrawal, or both. In any case, put up with the withdrawal symptoms for a few days, and they will go away.

The caffeine headaches are the worst! I think it'd be better to wean yourself off the soda if the headaches are unbearable. If you have four a day, it can impact on your teeth and it'll make you feel bloated.

If you have to have Coke, maybe have a can a day, but balance it out by drinking one or two glasses of water. Use a straw so that your teeth won't decay that quickly.

Take some aspirin or Tylenol to relieve the headaches - it also helps to sleep it off.

Both the chemicals for carbonation and the high fructose corn syrup are bad. Caloric wise , you are at 52% of a days total on just the coke. The carbonation is suspected of bone damage, esp in the quantities you drink and the corn syrup is often associated with diabetes & obesity.
The headaches are caffeine withdrawl . . . switch to coffee and slowy back off of that.

That's a lot of caffeine. And you can also get fat if you drink it EVERY DAY. If you don't drink coke everyday, you get headaches? wow. Go to your doctor. Try to get a drink that's not so bad. Like .. orange juice or lemonade. Four cokes a day .. that's just too far. >__<

All the sugar can't be good for you. The headaches when you don't drink it are withdrawal symptoms. I used to do the same. The headaches were killers for about a week until I got used to being without.

It's been shown that women who drink a glass of coke, or any cola drinks, every day are more likely to get osteoporosis when they get older.
