We are on our early 30s, me (the guy), one day tried to help my girlfriend when she was having to buy a car to get rid of another one that was causing her problems since it was a lease, she was needing an extra $2,000.00 to what she was having to buy a car that she liked a lot. I didn't have the money, but I had the chance to get it through a line of credit (barely), so that's what I did, in order for her to get the one she liked a lot. Time after that, she started to pay me back a little bit later than what was expected. When she was going to make the first payment (partial payment), she prepared a form on where in one column she puts the amounts, 2 more columns with dates, and then another one where I have to put my signature. It looked weird to me being asked to sign something. When I gave her the money, I never asked her for any signature. She said that's the way things are being done, does this look like a simple situation that is to just keep track, or you can see other things?

I asked since I was like surprised, she said it was to just keep track since she forgets easily. If that's the case, I think you just keep track of that on another way, am I wrong, it's kind of confusing and shows me a lack of trust, or probably experience that I don't have yet. I don't know. She was needing something, so I helped her without doubts, it's weird, ideas?

I loaned a woman I was seeing last summer, about $450. I was told I would be paid back in a month. Well things got sour. She emailed me asking if she could pay me back a little later because she had to get some car work done. I try to fix things and dont see her for a month, then she finally emails me(after I sent one long one to her) that she doesn't want to hear from me again.

I tried calling her last week asking her when I can expect to get paid back. I haven't received any word yet. And this was a woman that ended up being a good friend for a year before we foolishly tried to make a relationship. I will never loan money again. I have been waiting six months now and I pretty much think I will not get paid back.

It seems perfectly reasonable and sensible to me but what you do not say is what words are on the form. There should at least be a simple headline saying what it is for so that there can be no argument. The good thing about signing the form is that it prevents you/people saying " but you never paid me last month" when you/they have signed as receiving the money.

Just in case things go bad between you too. She has a record of what she paid and you can't deny it in court if it went there. She is covering her butt in case you say that she didn't make payments. She doesn't want to end up on Judge Mathis and owing you money that is it.

It may be hard but get her to sigh something when she pays you with what the balance is as of that payment. keep that form in case she lies and say she paid you. I never heard about the lender signing something.

Did u sign? If shes making you sign when u gave her the loan, somethings not right. type a payment contract and see if she will sign it. if she breaks up with you take her to court
