I think most people prefer adopting young cats (like 4 & under) but any cat in a Shelter / Pound / Humane Society needs a loving home and can still give lots of fun loving years. Are you thinking about adopting a cat? If so consider adopting an older cat. They are the ones that have less of a chance at getting out of there :(

Usually kittens are adopted out first. In our state, the kittens have to be at least 8 weeks old before they can be adopted out.
Sadly, most adult cats in shelters are never adopted and are often put down. (We rescued about 8 adults from one place that was going to do a mass euthanization.)

Kittens are usually 6-8 weeks old. But you should really adopt an adult cat since they are less likely to be adopted and have already outgrown the clawing and bad behavior!

People tend to adopt more kittens and young cats (under four years). Though I know people who have adopted older and senior cats as well.

so some distance as i understand, no you dont could desire to be. i assume it truly relies upon on the preserve itself's rules. yet till now you undertake it, make helpful your mom and dad are happy with it. You dont desire to undertake a cat after which you mom and dad turn it away and the cat finally ends up homeless returned. Worst case, if your mom and dad comply with having one, convey them alongside to %. it up merely in case the preserve wont permit you reason you're too youthful.

6 weeks old and up. generally they don't let you adopt them until they are spayed or neutered and immunized, which starts at around 6 wks of age.
