Fleas can come in through the window screens or on your clothing or shoes from outside. Vacuum the rugs and furniture. They found that 98% of fleas that get sucked up by vacuum die in the process. Use Advantage from the vet, even at the height of flea season last year this worked for 6 solid weeks instead of the 4 they said it would. Ditch the flea collars, they don't work and you're only exposing your pet to more pesticides. What was the flea meds you got from the vet? Revolution? Frontline? I've found Advantage works better. But you can't constantly dose a cat, the more they're exposed to the chemical doses that kill fleas, the more stress is put on their liver which has to process what goes into the cat, and you can end up with toxic organ failure. I cringe every time I hear people say they've tried 4 different things in one week and still have fleas. I wonder how many of those cats end up surviving the constant chemical doses the owners heaped on them in so short a time.

Hi, yes, I think it helps. I cut fresh garlic in to small bits, then let the kitty sniff it so she knows what's coming, then gently open her mouth, put the garlic way toward the back of her mouth, hold it shut, and rub her tummy and she swallows it, bless her. She puts up with it but does not like it. About once every 2 weeks or so, and she has zero fleas. She is a very tolerant cat, she likes me and puts up with it, not all cats would put up with it so be careful. Maybe if you mix in fresh garlic in to her food she'd accept it. I also often sprinkle her food with nutritional yeast (you can get that at a health food store), she likes it, it gives lots of vitamins, and that too is supposed to help keep fleas away. Good luck!

Dont feed it to your cat, try bathing her in a Garlic paste....It does kill the fleas but it doesnt keep them off, you should try a topical flea solution for long term. I bathed mine in Garlic paste and it did kill the fleas.....he has a perfectly shiny long coat too.

You may be right about the garlic, but I know for sure that Brewer's Yeast powder will do it too. Your cat won't smell like a pizza pie either

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

No. Suck it up and buy some Revolution. It works for a month and kills fleas, ticks, hook round and tapeworms. It is the most effective parasite control I have yet to see.

No, only a flea preventative like advantix or frontline works. Most home remedies are just old wives tales.
