You won't make a lot of money that way. You'll win a lot of bets, but it's hard to imagine that they will pay enough to cover the ones you lose.

No. Betting favorites to win produces about a 20% loss. Betting them to place almost doubles that. However, betting odds-on favorites to place produces a 5% profit over the long haul (From Tom Anslie's book "Anslie's Complete Guide To Thoroughbred racing".)

sure it is but ya wont cash in on it always use a for sure win on triactors win/place/show all 3 horses in a trio combination w/p/s take top 3 horses and bet the three to come in in order 1 2 and 3 then " box it" 2 1 3 3 1 2 so they can come in in any order if all 3 top horses come in pays well! helps if ya take a long shot for a one time bet best horse to come in first or second second best horse to come in first or second and a long shot not too far off 4th best or so to come in 3rd look at the last races of each horse to establish your decision but one lil long shot lucky horse raises the odds alot of for sure bets but a lil "gambling " on an up and coming philly always raises the odds hope i helped

Favorites actually only win 30% of the time, so they place roughly 40% of the time. So this is not a good way to make money.
