Being attracted to a woman and knowing that she may reject you is what makes any man feel insecure in a dating situation.

Rejection can come even in well established relationships. And perhaps that's why some men feel uncomfortable when their female partner starts earning more money than they do.

Women usually want to be with men who are better off financially than they are. And knowing this, many men begin to fear rejection and loss of their relationship, when their female partner starts earning more money than they earn.

In other situations such as at work, men often to feel unattractive to women who earn more money then they do. And this of course makes them feel inadequate and insecure.

Just as an example of what is expected in society. When a woman stays at home and lets her male partner support her, then few if anyone will tell the guy to get rid of her and find someone else to live with. But if the same thing happens in reverse with the guy staying at home and letting his woman support him, then everyone will advise her to get rid of him and find a man who at least takes care of himself.

Some time ago I've known a couple where the woman kicked out her man because he lost his job and couldn't find any other job for a while. He was trying his best. And he even did volunteer work just to get experience. But this just wasn't good enough for her.

It didn't take long for her to find another man to live with. And her new man was gainfully employed of course.

Perhaps men have a good reason to feel insecure around women who earn more money than they do.

Rejection is a hard thing to deal with. Ask any woman that has actually gone up to meet a man and she will tell you how nerve racking that is. But men are expected to be the ones to do that.

Being in a relationship can be like tightrope walking. We know how to act around our buds. Around you the same behavior would get us into serious trouble. Even the most tomboyish woman can get upset at some of mens normal interactions with each other.
