probably best not to ask directly.. just sort of 'go around all the houses' as it were.. You know, vague questions such as "got anything planned for the weekend?". If she's taken, she is likely to mention her boyfriend at some point when answering a question like that - i.e. "well___ is away so i'm going out with my mates" or Me and ___ are going out for dinner", etc..

Why are you trying to make a negative impression on her... meaning if you are interested then show some interest...if you start having a straight face then she might just think your not at all interested... ok if you really wanna know whether she has a boyfriend then check out her reaction to such subject as love...or see if she checks her mobile every few minutes and sends sms or perhaps is more on the phone of check out whether she hangs out with some guy....try to get into a girls mind. but never put a straight face...coz you just might get burned.

well if you're trying not to seem desperate for a girlfriend the best thing to do is just sit down and talk with her for a while. And while you do this remember to LISTEN to what she says =P it seems to help when having a conversation, and plenty of my friends make the mistake of not doing so. Then, after you get to know each other better, just bring up relationships, and ask if she's going out, or whatnot.

Just say it casually in conversation, like you are asking about her, her life etc. You are allowed to be interested in a girl's life and situation without ulterior motives

just establish a common ground then ask a sly question like if shes goin out, jus say so are you goin to meet your boyfriend? lol or if she buying something say is that for your boyfriend lol... its much easier if ur open say i like you... so do u have a boyfriend lol

Oh for goodness sake. just sya are you seeing anyone at the moment ? because if not I'd love to take you to see ----------- on Friday night.
If she says she is just say 'No problem' and continue chatting about whatever you were just talink about.
Oh and don't behave like ani diot when you see her again just behave as if you'd never asked.

Just get on to the subject of relationship's,& just drop it into the conovation,like say something like "how long you been with your boyfriend"?
