Yes, People can get sick from bitting there nails. Under your finger nails are full of bacteria and anything that you ave touched. So what ever bacteria that is there you put in you mouth and are chewing on it and its getting in you mouth and can make you sick. Even though you was your hands it does not get all the bacteria from under your nails. So i suggest you don't bite your nails because you do not know whats under them .

The short answer to this question is yes. To better explain. Everything we touch causes us to come into contact with bacteria. That allows for various strains to end up under our fingernails. The amount of virus' we are susceptible to because of this constant contact puts us at risk everytime we place our hands in our mouths...especially if we chew or bite off the nail ends and have it held in the mouth where we swallow what bacteria accumulate there.

This is kind of a sick answer but here goes. If you were to go use the bathroom and NOT wash your hands then bite your nails, I would say most defiantly you would get sick!!!!!

Yes, your hands carry germs and are never truly clean (even with a surgical scrub...yikes!) You can get sick but I know plenty of people who bite their nails and are never sick...I guess some germ exposure is good. Unpleasant habit though- stop if you can.

you can get sick from breathing. I do it (bite nails) all the time and I dont really ever get sick. maybe once a year. maybe it helps to build a strong immune system.

Germs live under your nails. Unless you're meticulous about cleaning them, you will get sick more often if you bite them because you're injesting germs.

It's like licking the door handle to the bathroom.
