Take a manila envelope & line it with thin cardboard like from the back of a pad of paper. Sandwich the CD between the cardboard, write "Do Not Bend" on front lower left corner, address, etc.
U.S. Post Office provides free mailers for Priority Mail & it might be worth it since Priority Mail doesn't cost much more for small items.

Netflix ships millions of CDs using just Tyvek(paper) wrappers. Personally, I'd use the magazine page cover and two sheets of cardboard. Check with the PO site (www.usps.com) on what it will cost, and if Media Mail is an appropriate rate (but no enclosed personal message.)

As long as the cd is in a case, the computer paper should work fine. Just make sure and tape it up good!

By "erased" do you mean that they are very scratched or just don't work? If thay are scratched sent them in plastic cases, they are more expensive, but also more protective. If the data just dissapears and it's not scratched they may have been exposed to too much heat. While that is a problem I don't know how to solve I do have an idea to bypass it. If you're interested send me an email via Y! answers.
