Snow Ice Cream
Take some white snow (not yellow snow, that would be bad)...put it in a mixing bowl add sugar and vanilla to taste to make snow ice cream like my grandma made.

Mulberry pies
She also made mulberry pies. You have to find them and mix with sugar as desired and put them in a pie crust with a crust on top and bake.

This is an old family recipe and tastes much better than it sounds, comfort food all the way.

Papas con Calditos for a Family

Take a half dozen large baking potatoes, dice into bite size chunks and place in a bowl. Fill bowl with enough cold water to cover the potatos. Set aside.

Heat about a quarter inch of oil in a hot skillet, add one finely chopped small onion. Remove onion when tender. Replace enough oil in the hot skillet to bring it back up to a quarter inch.

Take a large piece of cheap meat, such as flank steak, and dice it into bite size pieces. Add chopped meat to the hot oil and sautee for a few minutes, just until browned. Remove the meat to a platter. Using a slotted spoon, remove the potatoes from the water bowl and place them, without drying, into the oil. Cook the potatoes in the oil for about 8-10 minutes and then add the meat and onions back into the pan. Mix together and then add the potato water that is all starchy. Let this mix simmer for a good 20 minutes.

Serve with hot flour tortillas, homemade if you have access.
