originally, a way to explain the mysteries of the universe in a time where science wasn't around and to serve as a moral compass for man. Since religion got organised, a tool to control the masses.

religion is different to different people some use religion as a way of filling a void or empty space in their lives while some use religions as a social gathering to meet different people and as a dating forum and some use religion for an explanation to things in life
