It seems I have a real dilemma. I do not want to violate Deuteronomy 22:5. "A man's item shall not be on a woman, and a man shall not wear a woman's garment; whoever does such a thing is an abhorrence unto Adonai."

I understand that some verses are figurative and open to interpretation. I am not clear on the correct interpretation of this verse.

The problem is that this morning at work we realized that one of the pipes going to the women's bathroom is broken. All the women have to use the men's bathroom now. I have tried to *hold it* all day but I can't anymore.

Help!!!

I've used a pringles can in a pinch, but I'm not sure how that would work out for a female.

Hello,

To be honest I think you are misinterpreting it. You know how in the bible the man is the head of the wife, so what it means it that neither the woman should try to take the role of the man nor the man should take the role of the woman. It has nothing to do with the bathroom...

What does having to go to the men's room instead of the women's room have to do with clothing?
The verse you quoted is talking about garments - meaning clothing, not bathrooms.

Go pee before you break some of your own plumbing.

ummm.....

Okay. If this is a serious dilemma for you, I guess you should find another office nearby and use their women's room.

If this is written from a Jewish POV, I'd say that there is probably something in The Talmud or Mishnah that would let this pass...contatc a rabbi.

If you are Christian, please remember what Jesus did say that the sabbath was made for (hu)man, not (hu)man for the sabbath...

Just use the mens room already. Sheesh. It won't kill u nor will God be annoyed by this. I've had to use the men's room in a restaurant before and nothing happened to me from it. So go already.

That particular verse applies to articles of clothing. simply meaning that men should not wear womans clothes, and vice versa, nothing more.

Use the men's bathroom already!
What's the big deal?
I do not think this verse has anytning to do with that decision.

Uh, that passage is talking about dressing, and more likely acting, like the opposite sex. As far as I know, there are no scriptures relating to using the opposite sex's restroom.

Under the circumstances, I don't think God woul d want you to wet yourself or hold it in all day in discomfort. What does this have to do with religion anyway? If ya gotta go, ya gotta go!
