This may sound gross, but a pale aqua color would look nice. There is a material made by Michael Miller that is a brown and aqua Paris theme (it is gorgeous!)......make a shower curtain and find some Parisian accessories, and paint them to match the colors in the room, throwing some yellow into the mix!

If you want to tone down the toilet and sink, paint the walls yellow, too. It doesn't have to be the same color yellow, just find a yellow that you like. By painting the whole room yellow, the eye won't automatically go straight to the sink and toilet, you'll add cohesion to the "mess":) Easiest thing for the floor if you can't redo it, add throw rugs (unless it's painted wood, then you can paint it, consider white). If you choose a complimentary color, such as blue or green, the sink and toilet are going to pop right out.

I assume that you are referring to the old school "Harvest Gold". It's a muddy, grayish yellow. A soft gold, if you will. Often paired back in the day with avocado green. I am so sorry. I think that shades of brown are a good idea, but since it is such a soft color you may want to stick to shades that would compliment the tone. Not as much dark chocolate as milk chocolate. Or perhaps a soft orange (think smarties sweet tarts). Red would be too bright and would make the yellow look even more muddy. If it were me, I'd rock the seventies and have a few avocado accents and some seventies decor as well. Hit up your local thrift store. However, if it is a bright, sunny, yellow... dark chocolate and bright orange all the way. Colors don't necessarily need to "match"...they need to "go" together.

Try thinking earth colors. brown, yellow, green, orange. Maybe even red. You could get or make a sunrise. You could go with leaves changing colors. Maybe you could find a wallpaper that has like a wheat theme on it. That would be golden yellow and light brown and then it would sort of combine what you already have. You could also get a nice autumny throw rug to put in there. Use leaf shape things for soap dishes and maybe you could get a few small baskets that are of any of the colors and place them about for trinkets.
Personally I like brown and yellow together. But this way you would be scattering the colors throughout the room instead of in one definite spot. Your shower curtain could go earth tones too, or a sunrise type thing.

Design the decor of the bathroom you want using yellow porcelain and then lay down a new floor. In the long run it will be less expensive and will make you happier.
Floors are easy.

I redone a Bathroom that had yellow and white. I added sage green. It is beautiful. White is always good, especially if it is a small space.

I'd add white, white white! Also, be aware that you can refinish your tub and toilet in white with the correct product, available at all paint and hardware stores.

redue your floor in white on white and it'll take away from the yellow, if your not renting and can afford to paint the fixtures, do them in white and accent in other colors you love.

Decorate with sunflower designs, might as well finish what someone else started!
