I can make a pretty good list of the CONS.
Pointless Commanders Calls- You hear the same thing everyone, dont drink and drive, use the buddy system, pretty much just dont be dumb. Some one always messes it up.
Working 12hr days for no reason, just sittin around staring at the wall or eachother.
Working as a augmenty, this su*ked worked 14-16 hr days. Got to gaurd a 20ft wall. The plane was on the other side of this wall so yea that made for some fun nights.
Everyone says you get free medical, yea you get what you pay for. Took me about 3 and a 1/2 years for them to finally get my shoulder worked on. Had torn my rotator cuff, well the doctors kept saying I had strained a muscle. Do have to say dental is good though.
Being Volontold to do things.
Not getting reconized for awards, because I thought it was more important to do my job, than volonteer and take school.
Having people being nosey as hell about my personal life.
People seem to have a Im better than everyone my **** dont stink attitude. That got anoying.
Most everyone is out for themselves. Although there are a few that are stand up people. Not as many as there should be.
All in all I didnt like it, It did do me good and I did have alot of fun and make some life long friends, but Im glad Im a Civilian again.
Just rember there is bullshit that comes along with everyjob.
Felt I should add this
As far as you wont see comabat unless your a pilot or Special forces. You can tell that to my buddy who's been over there 5 times in the last 6years doin convoys as a AF Vehicle Operator.

- Military -
Your going to get a lot of Cons because of the war but there is a lot of Pros for joining the military. First though, the military isn't for everyone. Some people do great, some do not. It totally depends on how you do with someone telling you what to do. If you have a problem with authority, then the military isn't for you.
But, you get free food, free clothing, free housing and you get a decent monthly wage. You also get free schooling and you get a cool uniform that makes the opposite sex weak in the legs. ;)
Basically, the choice is only up to you. If you are joining because you don't have any other options, then you shouldn't. If you are doing it because you want to better yourself, then you should.
Also, remember that whatever your recruiter tells you is probably a lie or a stretch of the truth. Make sure you find someone else that is actually in the Air Force before you join so you can ask them some questions.
-Good Luck

I am civilian. However, my wife's father is an ex air force pilot. I have a nephew who went into the air force and has just returned to civilian life. I believe the experience gave him an excellent head start on a career.
Of course, the cons are obvious. If our commander and chief decides your unit is needed it is possible that you will be put in harms way in the service of your country. On the other hand, some might consider the opportunity to serve in such a tangible way as a pro rather than a con.

opposite to what the others are retaining the army isnt the foremost to get into. they're attaining their recruiting aims and performance been turning human beings away for awhile, they have even raised the minimum score on the ASVAB to round 50. some each body is growing a member of as Undesignated instead of a guaranteed score (pastime) because it ought to soak as a lot as a million 12 months previously you actual go away. So till you score truly severe on the ASVAB and are presented ratings like Nuke, EOD, and so on.. it is not person-friendly to get in. they don't look to be letting in earlier provider as well. they're apparently now requiring waivers from time to time when you're married with a million toddler, the position previously it doesn't be a difficulty purely a waiver become necessary in case you had 2 youthful ones. So in case you want to affix in June, you more suitable commence chatting with a recruiter now because or you would no longer be leaving till June 2012. Air stress is purely as not person-friendly to get into they're strict on what they want.

Civilian here
Pro - you weren't drafted into it so you want to be there yourself
Con - you have to go along with what the government orders you to do even if you don't agree and could die doing so.

the US chair force is what all of my friends who are still active duty call it.
unless your special forces, a pilot or some other off job you wont see any combat time. air force pays more then any other branch and has better bennifits then all other branches as well. it is the service to go in if your looking for high quality training without having to be shot at. lol

Well, as you cannot even construct a grammatical sentence I expect you'll be perfect material. The more fools crashing helicopters into Iraqi villages the more cash Bush's friends will get from selling them.
