I don't think anyone does care about Joseph's bloodline. The fun questions have to do with Jesus' bloodline through his potential children with Mary Magdalene...

Despite what others have written, it is CRUCIAL that Matthew give Joseph's bloodline in his Gospel. Why? To PROVE that Jesus, the true King of the Jews, was not fathered by Joseph (or any man, for that matter).
Joseph was a descendent of David though King Jeconiah. God tells us at Jeremiah 22:24-30 that no physical descendent of Jeconiah would ever sit on David's throne again. Therefore, if Jesus was a true descendent of Joseph's, He would have no right to the Throne.
This is also why Matthew then proceeds to explain that Jesus was conceived by a virgin, as prophesied at Isaiah 7:14. Therefore, Jesus was not affected by the curse pronounced on Jeconiah's descendents. Mary was also of the line of David, but not through Jeconiah.

In order to sit on David's throne forever, Jesus needs to be in the bloodline of Joseph (descendant of Solomon). However there is a curse on the bloodline- no blood descendant of Jeconiah would sit on the throne. Matthew records the royal bloodline ending with Joseph.
Mary's linage is in Luke, and you will see she is a descendant of Nathan, David's son.
So, the rabbis wondered how prophecy would be carried out. He was adopted by Joseph and became the legal heir without the bloodline that would "taint" him, while still being a descendant of David... Miraculous by human standards, a piece of cake for the Almighty!

The two elements of your question are unrelated. Son of God has nothing to do with bloodline. Yes, Jesus was born of a virgin but "Son of..." just means like in qualities. Jesus reflects the attributes of God.
Joseph is the adopted father and hence Jesus is adopted into that lineage.

It's important to see all the little things that were prophecized about the birth and lineage of Jesus. I think there is mention about the role of Joseph and his line in the Old T, as far as the role of the tribe. Both Mary and Jospeh played a role in the birth and plan. To fulfill the Mosaic law, even though Jesus was Jewish only on his mother's side, it was important that Mary be married to a man of the Jewish faith, from a city and tribe that was pre-ordained to fulfill the prophecy.

This is not really a question...it's NOT an if question. Jesus is the Son of God. Joseph's bloodline shows that he was not the earthly father of Jesus so Jesus had to be from God. The Holy Spirit fertilizer and conceived Jesus in Mary. Yes, there was a virgin who gave birth to the Savior of the World.

It was prophecied by Isaiah 800 years before his birth that the savior would be a direct descendant of King David; Joseph was directly related to King David. Jesus' earthly father was Joseph, and the prophecy was fulfilled.

Joseph is mentioned as Jesus father in the bible. Jesus would not be the Messiah except that He be a direct descendant of David the King through the male line. He could not be the Messiah and come through His Mother. Messiah means annointed descendant of David who sits upon the throne. Any way you slice this Jesus must be Josephs son. God is not a descendant of David. Mary is through the tribe of Levi and not Judah. Definitely not from David.
The Jews at the time were accusing Jesus of being King of the Jews in a mocking, derisive manner. They knew that He could not be the King of the Jews because there was a king on Davids throne during Jesus life. Jesus said "my kingdom is not of this world". Jesus was the one foretold by name, date, address, and mission in the old testament to come as the Messiah. He was the Messiah by virtue of his being a direct descendant of David through His father Joseph. He was the Messenger of God as well as prophecied Messiah. The king who occupied the throne was of no real consequence except for his position since he wasn't the Messenger of God and foretold to come to that place, at that time and to perform a certain mission.
Women who are virgins can become impregnated through the opening in the hymen through which the menses pass. Sperm swim, people pet, sperm on a finger applied to the vulva and you do the rest of the math. It was the custom that the young bride to be go to live with the future groom in his fathers house for a year before marriage. Could you do that and ignore your urges for a year without at least a little hanky panky?

forgive me for my confusion. some say Jesus is the son of God. Others say that Jesus is God. Since little, i've always wonder how Jesus can be the son of God and the God at the same time. And now you people say that he have children so that baby would be like the grandchild of God and child of God. So much confusion. Who have the final say then? God-father, Jesus-God or baby-Jesus God? i will only stick to one God, whatever you people say.
