Anti-evolution theorists use the question about a tornado blowing through a scrapyard and leaving a boeing 747 in its wake. Yet I ask, as the children on Ephraim asked can God create a table in the woods.

Where is there any evidence of good other than the natural evidence that exists. Could God create something so undeniably created that it would defy all other reasoning?

Could God grow a table from a seed?

Even the simplist of living organisms are Much more Complex than any man-made thing. Besides, even a table requires a designer & a builder, whether it be man or God. Organization requires an Organizer--It just doesn't happen. You can put the legs, top, & screws in a big box, roll it around or shake it up, and the pieces can not of themselves fall together in such a way as to make a simple table. Evolution in principle claims that such things have happened, and not only with inanimate objects, but that life forms themselves have come into being totally Without either an organizer, a designer, or a builder. It actually takes All 3 of such --Plus a life-giver-- but evolution claims that None of such requirements are necessary.

God can do anything he pleases.
He hardly needs to prove himself!
He has already created an entire unending universe (and everything in it) that is --realistically-- undeniably created.
What could it prove further if he were to grow a table from a seed? Nothing! Those who refuse to believe continue to ignore the facts, no matter how compelling they are ...

Nice question. Richard Dawkins has done a very good job demolishing that 747 tornado argument (look for his "climbing mount improbable" lecture on youtube), but it's an interesting question to wonder whether or not even the alleged God could do it.

There is nothing on the planet so undeniably created that would defy all other reasoning... Even the eye, wings, and camouflage can evolve naturally (refer to the same video lecture), but there's no evidence of anything complex randomly springing into existence, and it is far more probable to think of everything developing in gradual incremental steps than to assume things magically popped into existence.

I am certain god could not grow a table from a seed and that the anti-evolution argument (which doesn't work against evolution) instead is a good counter against the faith.

First of all, God creating a table in the wilderness is symbolic of God's provision no matter the circumstances His people find them in. (By the way, a wilderness in the Bible is referring to a barren place, such as a desert - not the woods.)

Secondly, everyone could answer the question by saying that God can do anything He wants. However, it is God that set in motion the laws of physics, seedtime and harvest, etc. God Himself uses these natural laws. A miracle is God intervening in these laws but not necessarily breaking those laws. Tables don't come from seeds - that is a law.

Finally, how does this question have anything to do with rebutting the argument of a tornado creating a 747 out of a scapyard?

You cannot see the forest for the trees, methinks.
You use a table in the woods as evidence of intelligent design, yet you completely miss the point that the trees themselves in these woods are far more complex than a table could ever be. The evidence is right in front of you. People will look at this computer and admit that it is intelligently designed, while at the same time, look at the human body, which is thousands, if not millions of times more complex than a computer, and believe it arose out of chance. That isn't even logical.

the quality of love that God created man with. This quality is totally against the theory of evolution which is the survival of the fittest.Problem is not to many are applying it these days.

You lost me at how the 747 has anything to do with evolution. What's the story with that?

No, god could not. If there is a god, it is the laws of physics and the boundaries of space and time. We see every day what that god is capable of: It is the world around us; nothing more and nothing less.

Why are you asking questions about God? My understanding is that God does not exist. Even the church people recognize that God is likely imaginary, but they want to believe in it just in case.
