Why do guys always act really tough and always seem to have a split personality?

Not only guys but all of us have split personality.
One for the public and one when we are alone.

What we show in the public is what we want the public to see. There are a lot of masking and faking involved. But when we are alone there is no one to judge us and so we dont need to put on that mask. Guys act tough bcoz the society want men to be tough. Guys dont want to give out the impression that thay are not good enough...no body wants that.

But deep inside male psychie is much more simple and straight compared to females. So dont blame buys for split personality and have a good look at yourself honestly and ask how weird you had been when you were alone.

they act tough so the girls think they have a "strong" and defensive personality which attracts some women. also when his friends are around the tougher you look the more "respect" you get. keeping your manlyhood for some guys is difficult so they are mostly hostile. when they get a girlfriend they become really loving and caring, but beware it is mostly in private and no friends of his will see it. i personally love my girlfriend and everyone sees it, but when a guy starts to get to close i act tough but you know just to keep things straight that my girlfriend has a boyfriend. my gf also likes that that i get tough cause it kinda turns her on but that is besides the point. hope i was of some help.

Guys have insecurities too, and acting tough is something guys do around each other, otherwise, the other guys will exploit the perceived weakness.

Guys with other guys are going to act like guys. Around women, they are going to act like they think women want them to act. In private, with their family, they act the way they are. You just need to date someone who is well adjusted and not worried about what others think. Unfortunately, those guys are usually out of their teens and into their thirties!

Some do it , because they are egotistical buggers, and want to keep the upper hand with a woman, also because they are afraid if their man hood is threatened, basically they feel vunerable so the tough guy act is used as a front.
