She is getting to know her new home. She is afraid, give her a couple of days. My puppy did not go poppy for three days. After that, she was fine. Just let her get comfortable at her new home
Take her outside and do not say potty, and put some pads inside. She's only a baby
Take care
Enjoy your new puppy. In a few weeks, she's be a family member

She's only 8 weeks old and isn't used to this environment. She probable feels safer in her crate. When my husband and I brought out min pin home, he was only 8 weeks old too. The first night he slept in our bed and it took a couple weeks for him to really get used to the place. Try buying her a dog bed and put a small blanket on it. She can nuzzle in the blanket and feel a little more at home (as if she's nuzzled up next to her mom or another puppy). Our min pin is a year and half now and sleeps under a blanket.
Just stay persistent, especially when you're potty training. Puppy pads are great for accidents and when the puppy can't get outside. You might try taking the crate away and offer a bed or blanket instead. She needs lots of rest for such a small puppy. Best of luck!

Sounds like she is either scared of her new home or may be used to being in a crate.
My first question to you would be: Where did you get her?
If you purchased her from a pet store, she may have come from a puppy mill. Most pet stores get their "stock" from puppy mills where the dogs are raised in wire cages and bred repeatedly until they can no longer produce and they are killed.
If you did get her from a pet store, you will have along road to train her! You will not be able to house train her using the crate method, because she will be used to going potty in a confined area.
If however, this is not the case (as I wish for your sake!), then she may just be scared. At 8 weeks, she's still very young and going to a new home can be frightening for anyone! She also is not trained yet, so has no idea what it means when you tell her to go potty. If you are saying it loudly, you may even be scaring her!
Try to talk to her calmly and soothingly and give her praise when she emerges from her cage! She'll learn that you are a nice person and she has no reason to be afraid!
Good luck!

It's hard to tell why, it may be the way she was treated before you got her. Just be gentle with her. If she is in her crate and you think she may need to go outside, reach in and gently pull her out.
If it continues, you may want to contact your vet. She may be having painful potties and not wanting to go.
Good Luck and enjoy the new pup

a lot of dogs feel secure in their crates and are reluctant to leave them, especially if stressed, like when moving home. don't worry, it won't be forever. always have treats and praise her when she does her potty outside so she learns going to the toilet is a fun game that gets her rewarded. try not to punish her if she does it inside, she may be confused and just start to do it in places where she thinks you won't see (ie behind furniture.) good luck and persevere, it will improve. in the meantime, try giving her something like a hot water bottle well covered with a furry cover or blanket or something to cuddle up to, my dog really loved it when he was scared at first.

She is adjusting. Pick her up and take her out to do her duties and then let her go back in the crate if she wants. For her age she needs to go out every two hours. After four months of age, its two hours + 1 hour for every month of age. Example: puppy is 6 months old. Take out every 4 hours.

If you just got her and she's that little, she has some adjusting to do. If she was removed from mommy and siblings, that's traumatic and she probably just needs some time and reassurance.
Small puppies, like most babies, sleep a lot too.
