My wife has forbidden me from going to strip clubs. It’s a sin and she says no married man has any business in a place like that. Honestly I’ve never cared for that kind of environment, so that’s not an issue. That said, she feels the same way about Hooters. Hooters I feel is fair game. I’m not going there to have some woman dance on my lap. I’m going there to look at some pretty women, eat some good food, and have a couple of beers.

Is my wife being too harsh? What's the harm in me going to Hooters every once in a while?

Your wife doesnt want you looking at other women. It will make her feel insecure and think you are thinking about other women besides her, which she doesnt want. You married her, she wants you to be thinking of her only in any sexual/romantic type of way.
She is afraid looking will lead to fantacising about other women which will lead to an affair.

If you want to go for the food, take her along so she doesnt feel threatened.

Strictly from a woman's point of view.

I think the girls of Hooters probably wear more than what you see at the beach these days. The problem is not what they are wearing. The problem is with you and your wife. I have lived a lot longer than you so I can safely tell you, that woman want to be the one and only woman in their husband's life. You want a happy marriage make her number one. If she thinks you place other women over her, yeah you may stay married, but she will start to withdraw from you as the years go by. Perhaps do a little looking herself. Take care of one another and put her first, as she should put your first. That is advice I got from a happily married 90yr old man, who was married well over 60yrs. Good luck, buddy.

I don't think that anyone who says that Hooters is anything like a strip club has ever been in a Hooters. It's a place where they serve overpriced food, and all the waitresses happen to be very good looking. The same thing could happen if you went to Applebees and your waitress was a knockout. Except you wouldn't have to buy $17 chicken wings.

Here's a hint: there are three people in the world who go to Hooters for the spicy Buffalo wings. They go so they can see women in skimpy shirts. If you'd like to let your wife go to some sort of restaurant where she can look at men's crotches being displayed as a prominent selling theme, fine; that's pretty much the equivalent of what you're doing.

Doesn't the Bible say something about how if you look at another woman with lust, your have already committed adultery in your heart? Well why don't you read some more of your bible there. I personally don't need a bible to see that you're a pig and you shouldn't be going to f'ing HOOTERS if you're married. I feel sorry for your wife. You probably don't deserve her.

well I guess someone would think that because as far as the bible goes it says, if you lust after someone you have already committed the sin in your heart. So I guess some might consider it commiting adultery within your heart in a way.
Personally I have no problem with it(hooters), but I figured I'd explain to you why one might consider it a sin.

Hooters are not mentioned in the Bible. They are therefore to be considered as instruments of the devil.

Beware. I think the same can be said about beer. Wine is OK.
Another sign is that they serve oysters at Hooters and that's a big No No according to Leviticus something.

Got kicked out of hooters once for being too drunk. But come on, you don't go there for the food. You go there to look at girls or, in my case, becaue there isn't anywhere else open. The food there is terrible.

You are right about strip clubs. Boring as hell. Do guys that go there regularly know they're being gamed?

Jesus said that even looking at a women with lust in your heart is a sin and that it is better that you put your eyes out or cut off your hands before you look. You do not even have to go to Hooters to commit adultery in your mind, which once committed to mind it is also in your heart and is sinful.
Hooters would only be fair if there was a restaurant with topless men in tight cut off shorts : )

There is no difference between Hooters and a strip club, in principle. Strip clubs are just really, realy good Hooters. FORBIDDEN???? Under what authority? Man-up, dude. She's the woman; the Bible says YOU make the rules in your house, not her.
