Is there a tax program that you can update every year?

I have the Turbo Tax 2005. Now I have to buy this years version. Is there a tax prgram that lets you download updates every year so you won't have to purchase a new program?

No. New programming always costs them money so they have to charge. No free updates anywhere.

No. The updates on the website only work with the current year's version, not previous years. It might look like it worked if you download them, but will give wrong answers.
