I'm doing the same thing for a large-group dinner and have gathered the following suggestions:
-Indianapolis: Breaded pork tenderloin sandwich, five-way chili, fresh roasted sweet corn, gravy on biscuits or potatoes, Hoosier pie (pecan w/choc chip), sugar cream pie.
-Chicago: ribs/rib tips, Italian beef sandwich, Thuringer sausage or Chicago-style hot dog, chili cheese fries, deep dish pizza (Uno), Frango mints, Fannie May, Cracker Jacks, Tootsie Rolls.
