I'm on a 1200-1400 calorie diet and I go on the treadmill everyday anywhere from 30-45 minutes to an hour. I've lost 10 pounds so far in 2 1/2 weeks & my arms and legs are getting skinnier. My stomach is a little skinner but not really..will it eventually get skinnier though? I don't see the point of doing crunches yet since it just builds up muscle and I have a layer of fat over it still.

Are you going through a stressful time in your life right now? Despite any amount of exercise, heavy amounts of stress can deposit large amounts of 'cortisol' into your midsection which in turn leads to the common belly-fat problem.

That is why most fitness trainers equally recommend relaxation therapies in conjunction with physical fitness training. Hope that helps and good luck to you. :)

Cardio is best for losing fat weight, I would definitely stick with that. Your body burns fat in deposits, so it takes a little longer for your stomach to notice a difference. I worked out for 6 months straight and got toned arms and legs, but my tummy still had a little excess weight. It's just harded to zone target cardio workouts. Just stick with the cardio and eventually your body will have no other place than your stomach to burn fat. Then tone up. You're on the right track. Hang in there!

stomach fat is the hardest to lose! It will eventually come off , though...you just have to stick with it. And crunches will help too...you get fat underneath and inbetween the muscle as well. So keep doing what you are doing and add a few crunches and you should be good to go! Just give it a little more time!

You need to work on your abs individually to see faster results. If you do the crunches it will help burn the layer of fat over the muscle. Remember that cardio training breaks down muscle instead of building it so always incorporate weight training in your workouts.

Murphy's Law....you lose weight last where you want to lose it most. keep it up and it will go. but crunches will tone and tighten your ab muscles to make them look smaller.
