I am 25 and would like to serve a Sangria along with a traditional punch at my 2pm wedding. The problem is that my parents attend a traditional Baptist church, the church I grew up in. The reception will be at a different location not the church.
I was looking for some more mature opinions on the matter.

That sounds great!
Seriously, it is original, refreshing, easy to serve... go for it!

I love Sangria, if it is made the proper way with the fresh citrus fruit, it makes a lovely drink, and I think it would be perfect for a wedding reception. If your parents are uncomfortable with the alcohol, I'm sure they will refrain, and stick to the punch. After all, it is your wedding, you should have whatever you like and want.

If your family is opposed to partaking in alcoholic beverages, then you need to determine whether you and your fiance are willing to only serve non-alcoholic beverages to make them feel comfortable as well as other guests who may not drink. You may also want to consider how active your family is in church and the roles they play.

Several members of my family are baptist ministers and alot of my guests are member of baptist churches who oppose consumption of alcholic beverages. So out of respect for them, we chose not to serve alcohol even though some of our other guests do drink.

I have been to other weddings of members of baptist churches where both alcohol has been served and hasn't been served. So the decision really comes down to how your family feels, how important it is to you that they feel comfortable, and if a large number of your guests are from the church as well. But the choice is yours and your fiance's either way.

It is YOUR wedding...have whatever you would like served at it. The level of acceptability depends on the quality of the drink being served.

Sangria would be ALOT more acceptable than Mad Dog 20-20 or AppleZapple.

I really don't see why not. This is your wedding and it really is so important to have it the way you want it. Be sure the location where you have it has no problem with alcohol on the premises. You don't want any last minute surprise! Enjoy:o)

Why not? We had Champage and full open bar at my 12:00 noon reception.
