I highly suggest you take her to the vet so that they can provide you with the proper medication. NEVER give a pet (especially a puppy) human medication unless prescribed by the vet. Human dosages are totally different from animals. Plus the diarrhea could be more than just from what she ate. She may have picked up an intestinal parasite or some kind of virus, also diarrhea will cause her to get dehydrated. The vet will be able to check for these things. Hope this helps and that she feels better.

If this has been going on for 5 days take the pup vet asap.
If it's a problem just once in a while and you definitely what is causing it,a spoonful of plain ground pumpkin can firm poos up. Since your pup has had the problem for 5 days though, you really need to know why. A little people food from 5 days ago will not cause diarrhea for this long. This can be a symptom of something serious not to mention a pup can easily become dehydrated which can be fatal if left untreated.

As cruel as it may sound, take away all food and water and give this pet the baby non-flavored pediolyte, even if you must force it down the pet with a syringe. The more you can get down it,the better, this will keep your pet from dehydrating. If the pup hasn't been wormed lately, you may need to reworm it with a gentle wormer like Panacur, but must give three days in a row.Try giving it 1 ml per pound of Kaopectate every 2 hours,or 1 teaspoon per 5 lbs. of Pepto Bismol every 6 hours for the diarrhea. If signs of improvement isn't noticed within 24 hours after this treatment, take it to vet,as it could have coccidia, which will cause the pet to expire if left untreated. You also may try and call Vet and ask him for some Albon, which is a medication used for this.

NO HUMAN MEDS PEOPLE.. human meds are for humans, you cant get the dosage right for animals. Dihorrea isnt just a sign of upset stomach, ESPECIALLY in puppies. It can be worms, allergies, infection, coccidia or giardia which are highly contagious to people if left untreated and can be brought on by stress and poor food, intestinal inflamations, crones diesease, poor nutrition, Parvo virus. ALLL YUMMY problems that will not go away with out a vet. IF the dog is still squirtin poo since 5 days ago, the food dropped on the ground isnt the cause. Thats been POOOOOED out 5 days ago. VET TIME. Sorry money and dogs and vets are all in the mix when you own animals.
Thanks for the additional info, loose poo is probably worms, or the food she is eating isnt getting fully digested this could be a sign of food allergies, or IBS - iratible bowel some pups get it if they are over stressed. Still kinda need to give the vet a fecal sample sounds like.

5 day's? Puppies dehydrate so easily. They should never be given human meds without a vet recommending it. Human meds can be so dangerous to pets. 5 days is way to long for the pup to have diarrhea. The pup needs a vet.

You'll take her if she doesn't get better?! She's been sick for 5 days!! How long do you plan to wait?! A month?! Do not give her over the counter meds, get her to a vet as soon as possible. in a young puppy this could be very serious!

very, very much so. In fact its still a pup until 18 months (pretty teenage and bratty from 6 months until 12-18 months) and then fully matured about 2 years old. I would do a bit more research before getting a dog, especially that combination. Perhaps you would be more suited to homing a mature dog? ADD; some shepherds dont act very mature until 3-4 years old!

My dog had diareah last month. The vet told me to give him Immodium. They said it should work almost immediately but if he still had diareah after 2 days to take him for a checkup. It ended up he had whipworms even though he had been wormed by another vet. I don't think your dog would still be sick after 5 days if it were just people food. Try the Immodium, if that doesn't work take him to the vet.

Call the vet and ask what they suggest. I have a dog with allergies and they have me give him Bendryl. They just need to adjust the dose to your dog. This can't be done with all human meds. After all they are for humans. Five days is a long time. Call the vet.

Five days is too long for anything to go be sick without being taken to the doctor. Has she had all the necessary inoculations? Has she been exposed to any form of cleaner that could have poisoned her? Take her to a vet.
She could have any number of canine diseases. Only a veterinarian can diagnose and treat you puppy. If you love and respect your puppy, please do not wait any longer in contacting your veterinarian.
