There are religions that do have the right path and do Gods will but people themselfare not well informed on what they believe. There is also a difference in following the law of God and following the standard of a church. For example if you are unfaithful will you wife although God and people forgive they must erase you from church (Not kick you out) because you are seating a bad example and damagng the name of the church but you still can be considered a christian if you ask God for sincerful forgiveness.

I'm older than a lot of people around here, and I've spent years looking for the religion that works best for me. That involved studying with people from other religions and reading books written by members of various faiths. I tried to approach each religion with an open mind, and I learned quite a bit.
So, yes, I think I had enough information to make an informed choice when I became a Christian.

I have researched many religions. The only one that has a living savior is Christianity. Other religions require "works" to be saved. There is no answer as to when you have done enough "works" to be saved.
Christianity provides salvation through "faith."
Eph 2:8-9 God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

I have read up on other religions, so I guess you could say I was informed. However, I don't have to stick my head in a garbage pail to know it stinks. When you find a pearl of great price, a richness, that betters your life, you don't need to look any further. Like marriage, you marry at 20-30 yrs of age and hopefully stay married, You don't go sampling others just to see if things are better. You treasure what you have.

When you are introduced to the Living God through Jesus Christ there is no need to "shop around" anymore. Christianity is more than a religion. It is access to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and when you know Him, you quickly understand the silliness of all of the other religions for they are purely man-made and lead to bondage, sweat, and tears. They cannot give life- only rules to follow. Christianity does NOT give rules, it give you the Living Christ to live through you and with you.
One note: not all who call themselves "Christians" are. The true ones have more than a creed. They have been 'born again' spiritually and they literally have a new nature, a new spirit that communicates with the Holy Spirit.

Prior to becoming a Christian 10 years ago I researched and followed many religions. After reading "The Signature of God" by Grant Jeffrey I found proof for myself to believe in Jesus and the bible. Christianity fits me. Peace :-)

All of Jehovah's Witnesses have.
I've talked to (not just read about) most religions.
Every time I knock on a door, I put my faith on the line.
I have researched all the verses people use to "prove" the trinity.
When you compare them to the context of the speaker, They always come up disproving the trinity.
example: John 10:30 "I and the Father are one.”
Did you know in the original Greek, the word one here is neutered, and can be honestly translated
'I and the Father are one thing'
What is that one thing? works.
vs 32 Jesus replied to them: “I displayed to YOU many fine works from the Father. For which of those works are YOU stoning me?”
What god did Jesus compare himself to?
vs 34 Jesus answered them: “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said: “YOU are gods”’? 35 If he called ‘gods’ those against whom the word of God came, and yet the Scripture cannot be nullified,
This is in reference to Ps 82:6, where Jehovah calls the human judges of Israel, gods.
So Jesus is equal to human judges, Not Jehovah.
Who does Jesus say he is
vs 36 do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?
So John 10:30 doesn't teach that Jesus is God, but that he is God's Son!
Notice what people in Jesus' day refused to believe about Jesus.
vs 25 Jesus answered them: “I told YOU, and yet YOU do not believe. The works that I am doing in the name of my Father, these bear witness about me.
People continue to disbelieve the testimony of Jesus.

Lots of them. Many have been informed about New Age movements more than they have about Christ and Christianity, so they have accepted the incoherent garbage that spews out of the mouths of zapped out gurus.

I have informed myself as much as I can right now. I am always eager to learn more about religions and cultures that are different than mine.

me. I have searched a lot of the religions (not all, most of the major religions) and I have found truth in all of them and that all ways lead to God, everyone just has their own path.
Oh, Oh heresy, I just spoke heresy...oh well.
