Do not get tatoos if you just want to get some. I would say only about 5% of the tatoos that I have seen actually look cool. Also getting a tatoo will not make you look cool if that is what you are after.

I, personally like fantasy books and the like so I have numerous tattoos of dragons. A piece of advise, don't just go into the first place you see to do this, check out several, get to know the artist and take a look at their books. Most artists have books of work they have done. These guys are artists in er very sense of the word so if you don't see anything on the wall, or if you want something original give them some ideas and they can draw something up for you. Also make sure they are up to code, health wise, an infected tatt is no fun. Tattoos can be addicting I started out to get only one and now have them from my ankles to the back of my noggin. Don't regret any. I hope this helps and good luck in finding what you want.

If you can't think of something you really want tattooed than don't do it. Simple as that. Wait until you have some image you're really dedicated to, something that carries a lot of personal meaning for you, before you go off and get a tattoo.

The image you choose will be with you for the rest of your life, it's not a decision to be made lightly and certainly not something to get from yahoo answers... Also with attitudes and beliefs and values changing so often over time, make sure it's something you can appreciate even far into the future.

Remember a tattoo is PERMANENT. Take some time and find something important to you that you honestly believe will always mean something to you. My sister ended up covering the same tattoo three separate times, because she grew up and decided it was Lame. I debated for 8 years before I came to the right one for me.
But if you're determined to get one anyways, tribal flourishes look nice especially with symbols of some sort. Like Chinese symbols (find someone who actually speaks the language; you don't want to walk around thinking you have Tiger when really it's Goat) Find a decent tattooist and get a consultation.

Just take your time finding what you want a tattoo of. You'll probably want to look and find something with meaning to you. Does your family play a huge role in your life? What about religion? Do you have a favorite flower or animal or whatever that you might want tattooed on you?

Whatever you do, don't get a tattoo unless it has meaning to you. I don't know you to give suggestions but for starters, take things you like and search Google for ____ tattoos and go from there.

Uh...... don't. If you read about it revenue nationally for tatoo removal is for the first time exceeding that of businesses giving them. Its because as the nation is becoming more conservative and educated tatoos are being seen more as a silly was to express oneself... no offence. Not cool but as a weakness to possibly pay for later in life.

I used google image search for mine...anything I thought had significance in my life, I googled....found a lot of great ideas and finally settled on one.

brought the two images to the tattoo artist, he drew a picture of how he liked them together, I liked it too, so he slapped it on me.

I've been happy with it, it's original, and everyone is impressed.

I don't know what you're into, so, not knowing that, I can only suggest tattooing my name on your ***....

A tattoo should be something that you will want to look at for the rest of your life, so it should be something personal to you, like an astrological sign or your home state. I also think you should have the artist draw something new for you, you don't want something off their wall, because someone will have the same exact tattoo.

One should never get a tattoo for the sake of vanity.
They should be more of a journal of what you've been through, and remind you of who you were and what you were doing at the time.
For these reasons, I say think about something in your life that's had an impact on you, that you'll never forget, and think of how you can symbolize it in a tattoo.

if you have to ask complete strangers on yahoo what to get as a tatoo you are NOT ready to get one! (this is meant in the most sincere and polite way possible!)

if you do not have something in mind, or something that means something to you..don't do it until you do...
