I remember when I was in jr. high it seemed like everyone had a boyfriend or girlfriend, and now that I am older and my sister is in jr. high, I find it really weird. What age do you think is right to start dating or having a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship?

jr high school is really young and in my opinion so is 16.. when me and my friends look back at our high school years and boys u realize how silly somethings were and how if given a second chance u would do them differently...i think a good age to start dating is 18 when u r grown up enough to have a vague idea of wat u want out of life and more comfortable in ur own skin...also u r less likely to do something u will regret later...

well these days with the exploding population and the scare of ecology, there is no rush to get married or to have children, so why date that young? Since higher education is the main ain, then it's best to get the A's and go as high as you can without getting involved with anyone who would halt you from saving to support yourself in retirement.

Sure things were different years ago what with new laws coming in. When I was in school I knew people were dating but I was not allowed to until I reached 21. So it doesn't mean everyone has to date at a young age nor does it mean if they do it then any specific teen has to do it too.

The next thing after dating is (for some) living together and in some states that's still a criminal offense, but kids aren't concerned about criminal offenses these days, they don't understand they need to see the big picture, take responsibility, etc. and not ruin their future, cause their future lasts a long time.

I had my first boyfriend when I was 12. All we did was a pop kiss. I had my first french kiss/made out when I was 14. I experienced oral sex (giving and recieving), and other physical contact when I was 17. I lost my virginity at 18. I don't regret anything. I waited until I was completely ready before I allowed myself to do anything. I never rushed myself, even when the boyfriend put on pressure. While I had my first boyfriend at 12, I was nowhere near mature enough to handle it. Once I turned 14 I felt ready for a relationship and ready for kissing. As for going further, everyone is different. You have to wait until it feels right for you. You need to be able to trust your partner completely because you will be experiencing some pretty intense emotions.

I would say if it is just a innocence Jr high relationship then that is nothing to worry about! Normally Jr high relationships do not last that long to begin with anyways! So i would not worry!

Well with teens having sex now at younger ages, I probably wouldn't be okay with my kids dating until they are at least in high school. But that won't be for at least another 9 years so who's to say how I will feel then. I will base my decision on how my children are with their studies, their friends and I will most defiantly meet the potential suitor with my gun clearly on display...JJ. Education is the most important thing and I will stress that until the day they graduate from high school.

I believe that it is alright to have a bf or gf when you are young/like Jr High. But dating without chaperon should not be permitted until much, much older-17 maybe.

i think the right age should be around like 15 or 14 becasue dating in jr. high isnt like it was when we in jr .high now they are having sex smoking pot and smoking cigarettes at a young age and its scary to know that your younger bro or sis is around it or might be doing it

my kids are in the lower elementary and they already talk about who their boyfriends are and stuff......it isn't like they date or anything and they are just other kids in their class but it's funny right now. I think that my kids can always have a "boyfriend" but as far as them getting together.....like them coming to our house or our daughter going over there, I think that she will probably have to be at least 14 and that's only with parents being around. I will let her car date at 16 and yes I will be the parent that if my kids want to go to a movie or something then yeah as a group I will take them younger than that but it isn't like I will just allow them to make out and stuff they will have to abide by my rules!

I started dating when I was 12 so I can't necessarily say much but I think 16 is the right time.
