I need to buy a good quality TV set, 42" to 65" or more, the bigger the better, 50% of the time will be used as TV and the other 50% as computer monitor. What is better DLP rear proyection TV, LCD, Plasma. Also I am worry about eye damage, and since it will be a big investment the more lasting the better. Which brands do you recommend me and which stay out of them? also budget is a problem, I wish it will be between $1500 dlls to $2500 maybe a little bit more if needed.

Thanks

Every type has its own pros and cons

DLP pros: More bang for the buck, esp for larger sizes. Very good ability to produce true "blacks". Pretty large viewing angle. No burn in.

DLP cons: Not thin and wall mountable (though I've heard that they're coming out with some that can be wall mounted.) Lamp replacement after a few years (New LED based DLP's won't have this as much of a problem). Rainbow effect for some viewers.

LCD pros: High resolution. Comes in a variety of sizes. No burn in. No lamp to replace.

LCD cons: relatively narrow viewing angle. Poorest at producing a true "black". Potential for dead pixels.

Plasma pros: High contrast, very good at producing blacks. Large viewing angle.

Plasma cons: Small potential for burn in.

Personally, I went with a Mitsubishi DLP. I didn't need it to be mounted to the wall, and bang for the buck it couldn't be beat. I'd have to pay thousands more for an equivalently sized plasma.

Well since plasmas dont have the highest resolution and have problems with burn in on static images you should probably cross those out. LCD are only now getting into the 42" and larger range so those might be too expensive especially if you want the highest possible resolution. If you want 65" or larger then you will have to go with rear projection - which is good for you since rear projection is cheaper than flat panel units. The only problem I see with projection sets is the projection bulb burns out and needs replacement every few years - or more often if you use the unit a lot.

Whatever you choose, make sure it has the right connector to hook up to your computer.

in case you have a stable plasma television, then it relatively is going to be large. It was once with the previous cathode-ray television's that VGA may be blurry, yet greater contemporary plasma television's don't have that difficulty; although, they won't be waiting to to show the alternative which you relatively decide for. you will could test with that based on the relatively television which you own. For video enjoying cards, the extreme end ones do no longer make the image any clearer. What they do is take the load off the main CPU for processing 3-D photographs. That way, your video games run speedier using fact the CPU concerns approximately processing what the recreation is doing mutually as the extreme end photographs card strategies what desires to be shown on the show.

I like the LCD screens for your type of use. They are very good for static images such as a computer screen. DLPs are cheaper however, and should its bulb burn out, it is easier to replace. A list of pros and cons can be found here: chooseatelevision.com
