ok long but for mine this is what i did,

-first off i based all the pressies on a similar idea, i got baskets, wrapped ribbon around the handle etc and filled them with the following,

-for my bridesmaids it included, mini bottle of champers, a silver & diamond butterfly necklace each, a photo album of the day (i was lucky enough to have a keen photography student friend) with mainly photos of them/us their friends in, mini temple spa candle,s a temple spa face mask, a bottle of the perfume they were wearing that day, and a sample of the perfume i was wearing, chocs from hotelchocolat.com, and a card which i had written my thanks in, how amazing they are how lucky i am etc.
The idea was to have a basket of 'chill out'; stuff for them, as they were just as worn out as me after months of preparing!

- for our parents, it was pretty much the same, their photo album consisted of photos of me & them growing up, & photos of the wedding day, instead of the perfume i made reservations at their favourite restaurant and sorted a car to pick them up and take them their the following day, again chocs, champagne, candles, toilettties and a bottle of stupidly expensive whiskey that my hubby picked out. and a thankyou card with how much they mean to me.

-for the best man my hubby did most of the work, it still envolved a basket but full of things like a bottle of whiskey, a dog tag necklace type thing with a saying him & my hubby used to say when they were little. instead of a photo album my hubby got made a kind of newspaper thing with stories of their childhood games & pics etc

- and we didnt have ushers but two little flower girls, they both got a mini basket with a butterfly necklace a teddy with their name & date of the wedding, and lots of sweety & choccy things

these were all placed in the hotel room and at the point where we were supposed to give the gifts out, we just gave them a card with an insert saying that their gift awaits them!

For the parents either a bouquet of flowers or a box of chocolates from somewhere posh like Fortnum and Mason. For the ushers - cufflinks, for the bridesmaids a chain with a pendant. For the best man a hip flask filled with a nip of whisky.

For the ushers, I would say gift-cards to various places, place them in a card or gift bag without a name, so whoever pulls will get the luck of the draw. You can get the bridesmaids matching jewelry accessories to wear with their gowns. I would get the parents a giftcard to a nice restaurant with a decent amount on each card to include the tip. For the best man, a gift card would also work.

I gave flowers to the mums. Best man we gave a dab radio just because he did not have one but had wanted one for ages so we knew he would like it. For my bridesmaid ( 7 year old at the time) i had a teddy made from the bear factory with a voice message saying thanks for being a wonderful bridesmaid. I decided on these as they were the most approipiate gifts for their personalities on the day. Get something that suits who they are and they will like it.

Our best man loves cooking so we bought him a professional cook's knife and had it engraved saying thanks for being our best man, and the date. Didn't get ushers anything - not seen buying ushers a present at a wedding before.

Bought little bridesmaids various colouring books and dolls and big bridesmaid matching necklace and earings.

Parents - wasn't very creative on this one just went for flowers each as stressed by this point and skint!

I'm going to buy my bridesmaids heart shaped rose quartz stones

It's something they will always keep and rose quartz is supposed to bring calm, peace and love if kept in a room - I have one on my bedside table and one on my desk in the office!

You can buy them here http://www.holisticshop.co.uk/shophome.php?findtext=&itemxtr1_LL=ROSQ

Or do a search on ebay

For the parents we thought we would give them an experience they will remember so we could really say thank you - we thought about a wine tasting weekend or city break but that can be expensive so we may just book them a really nice meal - it's nice because they can spend time together reflecting on the day

Not sure about best man - perhaps a watch?

My fiance is getting his groomsmen gift baskets filled with sports stuff from their fave teams, and I am giving my bridesmaids monogrammed beach towels (refused to do overdone jewelry, I NEVER wear the stuff Ive gotten for bein a bridesmaid again!) I almost went with big fluffy spa robes for my girls, but then figured the beach towels would get more use from my friends! For your parents, why not a gift certificate to a nice restauraunt?

When I got married, we bought the bridesmaids necklace and earring sets that thy wore on the day (I got them ones that matched their dresses) and for the male members of the wedding party we got cufflinks in presentation boxes... usher, groomsman, father of the groom, father of the bride... etc etc for the mums we got little glass token keepsakes that said mother of the bride and mother of the groom on them, and a huge bouquet of flowers from florist that did wedding flowers.

traditionally the bridesmaids receive a small piece of jewellery, such as small necklace, or earrings. but depends on age and piercing/ best man a pair of cuff links, ushers don't normally receive gifts. but i guess a nice bottle of wine would be ok

I went with jewelry for my bridesmaids. Otherwise, ExclusivelyWeddings.com is a great website with a wide selection of appropriate items. Their service and prices are good too.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
