If this cat has been bleeding or has an open wound,
TAKE THE CAT TO THE VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY!!!

Cats who have nail or "claw" problems can quickly develop secondary infections and even so badly that they can die. Remember, they dig in a litter pan or dirt where many kinds of germs and bacteria reside. Getting this in an open wound is only asking for trouble.

If the cat just lost a nail. No worry. This happens all the time.

But if kitty is bleeding or has been bleeding from a nail or claw area, or has an open wound, get him or her to the vet ASAP.
