A friend from work had her daughters foot prints between her shoulder blades, it was awesome. Id never seen one like that. I would strongly urge you to not place a child related tattoo somewhere that is 'sex related'. It may look pretty on your bikini line but thats a very sexy place and not such a great place for your babys name..

Two ideas for you:
1. My sister put her daughter's name just under her bikini line. It's her name wrapped up in flowers and vines. Very feminine, but not too girly.
2. A customer had her son's names on her upper arm in a very nice script. Unless you were right beside her, it looked like a pretty arm-band.

Other than those, someone else mentioned the zodiac. Take your ideas to a well known tattoo artist and see what they come up with.

I would get a portrait of her.. look for a pic of her face that you like the most... there could be her birthday or name on the top or bottom... that way you can always remember what she looked like when she was a baby... maybe clouds with halo or angels wings... above her head... or even a angel.. with her name.. but i love portraits... make shure you go to a GOOD tattoo artist.. and look at some of thier work... but those are my tattoo of choice... or watch miami ink for some more ideas.

What reminds you of her? Is there a song, a picture, a toy? Find something that means a lot to you and reminds you of her. Make that into a tattoo and put her name in it. You could also take the object to a tattoo shop and have someone who works there try and create a tattoo for you. Don't have someone else decide for you. It needs to be special. This will be on you for the rest of your life!

I'm actually getting a tattoo next week with this same idea. I am getting a shooting star with my daughter's name incorporated into the 'streamer' thingies. Because when you see a shooting star, what do you think of/what do you feel? I feel hope, happiness, etc. That's why i'm doing the shooting star theme myself...

Angelina Jolie tattooed her childrens names and the exact location of their birth on her back. Perhaps get her name using flowers or something that means a lot to you when you think of her (hearts, star, etc.) and spell out her name with them. I would also place it near your belly in symbolizing where she came from. Maybe her name and bday?

Good luck

There are lots of things you can do. From getting her foot/hand prints tattooed down to getting her name and birth-date to a symbol that you like that reminds you of her. Find something meaningful to you that shows a good representation of her. I'm sure you'll find something if you do a little searching.

How about a heart with a banner around it with her name in the banner?
