Wouldn't it make you feel better to just let it go and move on?

I ask, because aside from the usual religious-vs-atheist battles in this forum, I've noticed more than a few users airing detail's of e-mail fights. I find this behavior a little odd, what goes on in private should be kept there.

Thoughts?

nope, I used to hold grudges but found it hurt me. I am however pretty disappointed in man kind in general. I get angry fast but it goes gast. All I need to do is bite my tongue for a few days and I forget.

Seems to me on this forum there are people who like to think they know something and when someone disagrees then it deprecaites their self worth which was based on what they thought they knew.

Itsnot what you know that says who you are but what you do with what you found out.

Good night Amy

I did this once. I didn't do it out of a grudge, however, I did it out of respect.

See, there's this concept in the Bible that if someone wrongs you, you should adress it to them. I had. I got a hate-filled, violence laden response. Now according to the Bible, I should have gone with one or two witnesses to see him but that's not really possible. So, I took the next step. I simply put it before the community.

I hold no grudge against him. I simply identified him for what he was and moved on. I'd say I forgave him but I never felt a negative emotion about it, so what was there to release? What forgiveness is needed, he did not wrong me. He typed some words that I disagreed with, nothing worthy of offense, and thus nothing that needed forgiving.

Well, my ex boyfriend lost all of my tupperware and swore nearly two years ago that he'd replaced it. I'd sent him home with so many leftovers after making him dinner that he ended up with all of it, and when he had to kick his roommate out for not paying rent, his roommate thought, "Oh hey, this must be my tupperware" and took it.

Now, I wouldn't care if my ex hadn't PROMISED to replace it. But he did. And you shouldn't promise to do things you have no intention of doing, because now it's not about the tupperware at all, it's about the principle of a promise. He even came over last year "just to see how I was" and said he would bring the tupperware. He was really only interested in sex (which he didn't get of course) and told me my tupperware was still at Walmart.

I've really tried to let this go - it's even become a bit of a running joke between me and my friends - but I can't say that if I ran into him in the grocery store I wouldn't start beating him with a package of frozen chicken and demanding my tupperware. Eventually, when he accepts that he's an alcoholic and ends up in a 12-step program, I imagine he will show up on my door with my tupperware and an apology. Then I will let it go.

I have a couple of grudges, nothing to do with anything here, but I'm not quite ready to let go of them...yet. I'll get there.

I think it borders on tacky to publicise private communications.

I had some real battles with my graduate school professors (academic freedom, funding, etc). That was a couple years ago and I have mostly let it go.

The only people I am irritated with right now are people off the net.
Myself and my Mother. I can forgive my Mom though, she's just trying to help me I guess.

i love email fights (re:debates), so they can bring it on, if ya know what i mean. if they want to air the details, then sure its immature and sneaky, but i don't have anything to hide so it wouldn't really be a bother.
