really care about, but they are a free loader and cannot learn to accept your family? How should I word it without hurting him too bad?

Umm he doesn't seem to care about Hurrting Your feelings by not wanting to accept your family......and is being a freeloader.........he has it made* Does what he wants when he wants and has Not Once Ounce of Respect for You or your wants/needs> GET RID OF HIM NOW* and don't look back. Very thoughtful of you. Just don't be accusatory if you can avoid it, even if he pushes you to do so. You can just tell him that you care about him, but the relationship isn't the best for both of you. You believe that he could be happier with someone else where he feels more comfortable with their friends and family. You could also say that you just aren't ready for a commitment at this time. If he pushes you to try to stay together, just say you need a break for a couple weeks atleast...that should wean him off you.

Stand up for yourself! Tell him that your family is part of the package deal and that if he can not learn to love them and care for them ( unless they have given him reason not to) then you just can NOT see this relationship ever amounting to anything. Tell him that you love your family and that you could never give them up and that if he doesn't understand that then you are sorry but that is just the way it is. Tell him that when he decides to accept you and your family and get himself a job or some sort of income then to look you up but if that doesn't happen then unfortunately it is over as of NOW

Every break is going to hurt no matter what you say. The best thing to say is " This isn't working for me." He can't argue with that, you are not attacking him or putting any blame on him. All he can do is except it for what it is.

well if you want to be gentle then you have to tell them the truth, you do have to be blunt but you can't expect that he won't be hurt by it. im afraid its got to be like that if you want to break it up. im sorrey there is no easy way. though if you feel you must do this, just dont screem and say how its not working out.
