you have to take time to get to know the person. ask him questions and get his opinion on things that are a big deal to you. Also, let him no right away when you start dating that your not going to waste your time on someone whos going to hurt you. You got to make sure you guys are on the same page. My bf and i have been 2gether for over a year and before we started dating we sat down and got everything off our chest about what we like, what we dont like, what our expectations are for a relationship, everything. it did seem to help.

You find that out by asking him what his goals in life are and what he wants out of a relationship, hobbies, etc. If they match your interests or if you just simply like him for his own individuality make sure you both talk about what you both want out of a relationship especially if you plan on getting into one with him. Make a pact that both of you will be honest to each other no matter how much it may hurt. It's ok to put your guard up a little bit, but dont make it too high. In every relationship you are taking a risk, guys can be very deceiving but you won't really know that for sure..that's the risk you are taking. Just take it slow once you enter into a relationship to avoid the heartbreak and try not to be too oblivious there are clear signs as to when a guy is lying or cheating on you, they are not too good in that department!
