Why do dogs nails ( claws ) grow so fast in the winter?

Most times its because they aren't outside as much. Being out in the dirt and/or walking on concrete wears down the nail.

I don't think they do. I think it's more of an illusion because they aren't outside as much and wearing down their nails by walking on concrete and digging and playing.

its probably because they arent out as much. Dogs claws wear down with walking on asphalt, sidewalks...
