Here we go: Wisdom is helpful but even more important is a single minuscule drop or whisper of human pity (apathy, understanding) of what others are going through. It is through this pity that aid is given and we help our fellow man. This helping of fellow man is never vain or wasted and is long lived. In other words, thoughts of doing something helpful is nice (wisdom) but putting feet to your good thoughts and acting upon them (human pity) is something that will be eternal. That's how I see it.

human pity is more helpful than all wisdom, human pity is apart of all and will not turn away. i think it means that wisdom is from your mind, which some people dont like to share. But pity can be formed from all humans. i'm not sure if that is the meaning. i tried, hope that helped?

i don't interpret things very well, but my interpretation of that was that even just a little bit of human pity is better than all wisdom.

its more helpful to have compassion, empathy and sympathy for others than it is to follow what our brains (or rational, logical thoughts) may tell us. what eliot is saying is our rational thoughts may not always be the correct answer but our compassion (even just a small portion of it if we listen to it) will never fail us.

Empathy for one's fellow man.

As human beings, we all share the same emotions and travails.

Sometimes it is more helpful for one to follow his heart and not his head. A person can easily change his mind, but NOT SO his heart.
