The US will not begin a war with Iran. The US will only become involved in military actions against Iran if they are attacked directly or if Israel is attacked by Iran. However, if Iran does attack Israel, who's destruction is the policy of Iran, a nuclear war may ensue, in which the US will become involved.
Iran poses very little threat at the moment to the US. IF they have nuclear weapons, they do not have the delivery system to reach more than several thousand miles. North Korea is much more likely to attack the US directly.
The President will not be able to get the require vote in the Senate to declare war on Iran unless there is a direct attack on the US. If full war is declared with Iran then the possibility of the Draft coming back will become a reality. The US does not have the troops base that it needs to support conflict in two major zones.
Once the US removes the majority of its troops from Iraq, then Iran could become a target.
The only US operations that could happen within the next year would be attacks via bombing runs and conventional missile attacks. The US does not want to instigate a large scale nuclear confrontation with Iran because there is the possibility that they would launch their weapons (both nuclear and bio-chem) on US allies and on the 200,000+ troops in Iraq. Also attacks on US allies, such as Israel, Saudi Arabia, and others would be guaranteed.
The US will do something, whether military or not, against Iran within the next 12 months. Military operations would be nearly impossible to carry out until a larger force is built up and trained inside of the US.
I personally think that we will see a war between Iran and Israel within the next 5-10 years which will most likely go nuclear. Whether Iran attacks Israel or Israel launches a preemptive attack on Iran is not known yet. I will not be going anywhere near that area until a more stable peace is around and Iran discloses its nuclear program.

Why war with Iran or North Koria one must ask? There is no international policy on nuclear weapons. Israel, Pakistan, India all have nuclear programs and nothing is done about it. Most ppl want to see our world free from all WMD. Its not fair to pick on some countries leave other nations do the same thing . Why do not the USA call for Middle East free from all kind of WMD and then the USA may have a sound policy. But to pick on Iran alone and have blind eye on Israeli nuclear program its hostile policy.

The USA probably won't technically go to war with Iran first. Israel will most likely be the first to through down the gauntlet, being that Iran is directly threatening Israel's existence with nuclear arms. This will most likely draw in the USA, being that they provide alot of money for Israel's defense and are their only friend in the Middle East. This would be an appeasing war for the US to enter, being that Iran actually has a standing army to fight, a difference from trying to hold back civilian suicide bombers in Iraq.

Well..I hate to say it, but I'm afraid it won't be too long from now. I sincerely hope not because I don't feel that war is the solution to anything. What I am afraid of is the consequence that follows. N.Korea is just sitting back for the right ample time to start their dirty work and Chevez isn't too far behind N.Korea. Chevez needless to say can't stand the sight of "Bush" so I can just imagine what he has up his sleeve when the opportunity is right. And let's not forget Cuba. Now that Fidol is deathly ill and his brother is running things who knows who he has contacted within this little group. I would hate to think that war is the ultimatum here but if Bush continues to have his way with things then war is on the horizon.

The chickens have already come living house to roost, Bush and Cheney stirred up a hornets left of their clumsy endeavour to preserve oil. Al Quaeda could on no account are transforming into as useful as they're with out Bush's conflict.

I don't think that it would ever happen, they have to much going on with Iraq. And they owe too much money for that war, they really can't afford another one. And the big question would be whats in it for them. Nothing, nothing and more nothing.
