then he knew what would happen if he created man and that he would eventually have to send his son to die for us. he also knew everything that's going on now. if he knew this was all going to happen? then why did he bother starting it. Was he really that bored?

I have often wondered that myself and the only answer I could ever come up with was "entertainment".

Ok, of course there's no way to know the correct answer here's a "theory" I heard once and thought it was at least a good story.

As you know God also created the Devil who was once an angel in heaven. To make this shorter after the Devil was defeated and God was prepared to cast him into Hell, the Devil said wait. What about mercy. The Devil said how can a just God not punish me or a merciful God condem me to Hell. So as an example of how God could be both Merciful and Just he created us. And each of us has the freedom to choose.

It think its called the Theory of Angelic warfare or something like that. I'm sure I didn't get it exactly right but you get the idea.

He didn't make us because he was lonely.Or bored,
Long before we were here, God already had "company" with his Son and the Holy Spirit, referred to in Genesis 1:26, "Let us make man in our own image."
And he didn't make us because he needed his ego fed. It's not like God made us to satisfy some craving to be worshiped. God is totally secure in who he is—without us. he dose not need us
despite not needing us, God chose to create us anyway, out of his great love: "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3). Yes, God loved us before he even created us. It's impossible to get our heads around that idea, but it's true; that's what "everlasting" love means.
God is love (1 John 4:8), and because of that love and his wonderful creativity, he made us so we can enjoy all that he is and all that he's done.
That's why we're here. But it's also important to note that we have a choice in all of this. When God created us, he didn't make us pawns in some cosmic chess game. We're not his toy soldiers. God gives us freedom of choice.
Bottom line: God may not need us, but we certainly need him
God has done His part to make it possible for you to be sure ... to be sure that you are in a safe, eternal relationship with Him. However, you need to do your part. Being good isn’t enough. Being religious isn’t enough. You need to take a step of faith.

He did (does) know everything that was, is and will happen. Even though some of us choose not to believe and love Him their are some of us that do. He willingly died so that all those whom were willing to see and here the truth would not have to parish but instead have life.

if He didnt start where do you think you would be right now?
He knew all this would happen and He also knew who and how many would accept Him and be with Him for eternity so that was enough of a reason for Him to start it all

Lonely, maybe?

Man was made in the image of God and we have wants and needs...who says these wants and needs aren't a part of the image of God?

Everybody needs somebody...even pets, who aren't able to carry on a conversation, still help cure lonliness.

You need to learn that God's mind is higher than any humans mind. If it comes from God, it has to have a reason for being here.
