Us goes to a poor African nation and bomb their citizens. It helps in the imprisonment of Palestinians in their own land. Its refusal to admit that there are people suffering because the Us refuses to support any UN resolutions against the atrocities commited by their ally. Its refusal to sign the Kyoto protocol. Its arrogance in dealing with the world at large through its puppet called the UN. Its capacity to lie through their teeth about any given subject under the sun with the exception of the Truth. Its consumption of fossil fuel and the waste culture.it practises. Its double standards in dealing with other nations. Its .......and the list goes on and on. Shouldn't its citizen be more concerned about what their government are doing to the world and why there are terrorist irespective of religious beliefs. Or Is it more important to be thinking about the next show on 'American idol' ? get your priority right. Be a Superpower with dignity not arrogance. Absolute power corrupts,no?

Are American citizen living in the democratic capital of the world not able to change their leadership and yet allow leadership change in other souvereign nation because they don't buy all your values and beliefs ? The planet is made up of more than 6 billion people not just 300 million or 5 % that the Us has. what democracy are you talking about? Do you people do maths? Minority rule anyone ?

Mr. Tamart, any country that causes animosity around the world like the Us, should be a concern to everyone , not only in the Us, living on the planet. Your life is a blank, it will stifle free religious beliefs and diferrence in opinions, way of life and culture. Does the Us have a culture, mr.smart? Robbing people of their homeland in the name of religion has been a trademark of the colonial gurus since time memorial. Birds of a feather flock together, no? Birds,as in birds of prey, not those that sing!

If you have no clue as to what you DEADLY are talking about, just shut up. Mugabe took back what belongs to tha natives of that land, not occupiers who stole the best land and enslave its people all in the name of bringing so called democracy to the people. Watch out for the new wave called globalization that would allow them to control world trade and see history repeating itself, something call slavery. 95% slave workers slaving for the 5% slave masters. Farmers and small producers are already committing suicide because the so called G7 are flooding their market with so called cheaper produce which are heavilly subsidised by these so called develope countries. Why don't the Us get agitated by that?

Hi, Anyone can, you have struck the heart of the question not because it is the best of answer, but you got the essence of my question. Why only the Us is to be above the law, the law stands for every being on this planet we all call home, so why the double standards. Can a American answer my question without rhetorics and the 'we are always right' complex? please go through the details and answer as a being on this planet.

That same African nation are harboring Islamic fundamentalists that mean to do us harm. The Plaestinians are also the ones that are killing citizens of Israel. Even though the Israelis are not absolutely innocent, there also have been no resolutions against the Palestinians on their attacks of Israeli civilians. The Kyoto protocols are a joke. As of now, emmissions in KYOTO are up 8% when they are supposed to be down by 14%, and many other nations that have signed on to it are not meeting its goals. Australia is the other nation that has not signed onto the KYOTO protocols as well. We as a nation are on the forefront of developing alternative and renewable fuels which the world will end up benefiting from. If America is such a horrible country. I say that you boycott everything we have ever invented, like the internet. Maybe you should be concerned about your own country instead of criticizing others. Maybe you should learn a little more about the countries you criticize instead of reading pre-digested material from your news networks. America does have things to learn and it needs to improve on its foreign policy. At least I can say that about my country. What can you say about yours? Or does your hubris know no bounds? OH..... all western nations, NOT JUST THE US were upset about China shooting down a satellite.

when the US was developing "Star Wars" they sent every new network in the world a slick video of how good they were at shooting down other countries missiles and satellites.
Now they are tom titting themselves..
Funny ain't it how everyone catches up. The Iranians seems to be about 3 steps ahead with tactics in the Mid East.
Old Coni looks like she's in a complete daze and I've lost track of how many times they have kickstarted the peace process or the road map..
The last good real Politician they had it seems was Clinton. now he could smooze anyone....

The only reason the US is upset is the reckless way of removing a satellite. When your communication network slows down or shuts off because of space junk crashing into other satellites, you might complain too. The US is not the only one breaking the rules, just there the ones to hate. In the next 15 years, the world will have more social and environmental issues than can be blamed on the US alone.

Most Americans don't even know where those places are. We have a chronically isolationist culture while we have a fatally interventionist government. Even if there were no TV at all, the vast majority of Americans would not care about or attempt to follow international political events, even when said events involve the States.
I'm so sorry. If I had a solution to this I wouldn't have time to be on Yahoo Anwers all day.

that poor African nation asked the US to come in and get the Islamic terrorists who bombed an embassy of ours back in the 90's. it wasn't like we just went in to be doing it. and in case you didn't notice, the government of that poor nation is trying its damnedest to fight off the same terrorists that we are trying to fight.
the UN is no puppet of ours. the UN obviously hates us, and i hate it. i say it's past time the UN got the hell out of the US and we the hell out of it.
the Kyoto protocol is just a piece of paper that will do nothing except hinder us, which is the point. whoever made that up did a great job at having zero effect on anyone except the countries who, strangely enough, are the only ones that amount to anything. such as us and Australia.
to be honest, as long as the government is protecting me and mine, i'm happy. if that means that they have to go root out evil, so be it. not to mention, where's your vaunted love for your fellow man? how can you bear knowing that there are destitute people the world over who are being killed, oppressed and starved to death by their own so called "governments?" yeah, you're against that until it comes actually doing something to help those poor people. then it's none of our concern all of a sudden.
and of the people worrying about american idol, i am not one nor do i know any of them. i don't even watch tv, and that includes the bigoted shows they call news.

China can do what it likes...it's bigger richer and more pwerful than the US could ever hope to be. The US might be agitated but unlike with smaller countries all they can do is speak up about it, and hope that china doesn't recall the hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars that America owes them.

Defense is based on satellite technology. Would you like to be blinded just as a battle was beginning? That is the potential that the Chinese weapon system has on American military! Much of your question is trite so I avoided the quagmire of unintelligence!

The problem is that most americans don't care (at least, that's what we see from the last election).
Most don't understand that this war in Iraq, far from fighting terrorism, is actually fueling it up. There is no better way to send new recruits to terrorist leaders than to maim and kill within a population, and to destabilize its government (however dictatorial it might be).
He guys, wake up ! Terrorist leaders are much smarter than you give them credit for ! They have left what's left of Iraq a long time ago, and are now firmly established in Pakistan.
US needs to shed a little arrogance to learn how to really fight against terrorism.
And please, if you want respect from your neighboring countries, like canada, please respect them ! Maybe you dont care about keeping your country clean, but we do, and your dirt is falling on our turf !
PS: To Kenneth C or anyone who may believe otherwise, the Internet, as we know it (World Wide Web), was invented by English computer scientist Timothy Berners-Lee at CERN (just to make things clear)

The Chinese have only done exactly what the US achieved twenty years ago - sent up a rocket and blown up an old satellite.
The Chinese have shown they are now capable of knocking out any satellite they so choose. So, one day perhaps, when you are watching Sky via your dish, zzzzzpht....signal gone and you'll know why.
