Don't try to get the cork out, try to get it in. You can do this with any McGyver tool available. Try a screwdriver, fountain pen, or any cylindrical object.
Simply push the cork into the bottle.
As you tip it to fill a glass (or drink), the cork will float to the top (away from the opening) and will get out of the way.

Occasionally bottle openers have a cork screw tucked inside. Swiss army knives occasionally have them too. I have seen people use an ice pick--they hammered it in and levered out the cork. Most grocery stores will have a little bottle opener that has a cork screw tucked inside it. I have seen people force the cork into the bottle using say a screw driver and hammer but the chances of shattering the bottle and cutting yourself seriously are way too high to attempt that.

A large eyebolt and a screwdriver will do in a pinch, but a decent corkscrew can be found in most stores, even a 24 hour walmart. Pushing the cork in won't always work, especially if there is any pressure from the fermentation. You must use a knife to slice into the cork and release the pressure before pushing it through. Don't push it through with the knife however, that's an accident just waiting to happen.

Buy a cork screw, they're not that expensive.
