CB.... Here is where I got my figures

WIKIPEDIA!!!!!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_toll

It says the death toll is approx 300,000, but a portion of those deaths were from disease... NOT ENEMY FIRE!

Capt... You should have pride that our soldiers will survuve, not die. You say how many more must die before people find it pointless? Very optimistic view you have there.

Yes. Though it is terrible to lose any American lives, there are times when we must stand up to tyrants. I believe most Americans still have pride, but they are bombarded incessantly with anti-war and anti-Bush rhetoric by the Democrats and other far left factions, including much of the Hollywood elite. The old story of telling a lie loud enough and long enough and people begin to believe it's true applies here.

And please, these bad guys killed 3000 people on our soil in a matter of minutes. Was Saddam Hussein directly involved in the 9/11 attack? Probably not, but those that did were aided and abetted by this nut and many were in Iraq.

Since you are keeping a toll on this.....what have you done for this country except open your mouth with an idiotic question! Are you suggesting in order for us to have pride more Americans should die. Since you have all the answers and all that facts and figures , I would suggest you pick up your two bit @ss up and pick up a gun.......maybe you could add to the toll and we Americans could get our pride back! If your form of thinking is what our future holds we are not only going to hell in a hand basket...we are already in the basket and going down fast!

American fighting men are far more effective today than in the past. You know this.

Your figures on death tolls in previous wars are not accurate. The Civil War resulted in more deaths than you have indicated. I would offer you the correct data but it is obvious that you need the practice doing research.

Troll.

Update-
By indicating that you consider wikipedia a a reliable source you only support my assertion that you do not know how to do research. You have much to learn about discerning the difference between fact and fiction. Pick up a book.

Your right! Historically 3000 is a low number not for nothing though, check your numbers they are extremely low as well:

Vietnam 58,000+ average 5,800 per year
Korea 18,000 average 5,500 per year
WWII 450,000 average 110,000 per year
don't know WWI
Can't use the Civil War because casualties on BOTH sides were American

I spent eight years in the Marines! Whats the crap about Americans not having pride?

Any loss of American soldiers is a tragedy but the numbers are very low compared to previous conflicts

that's a tragic certainty of existence that infantrymen and civilians are killed in wars. infantrymen do no longer sign up to combat in some wellness and risk-free practices brigade, yet I fail to work out the relationship between the deaths of yank troops and abortion. i assume you ought to argue that in case you play with weapons now and back you get killed as in case you play with intercourse you often get pregnant You cant blame the troops yet you could blame all and sundry of those stupid women who don't understand the thank you to declare "no".

With the technology today we should be able to keep our troops safer.

I can't believe you say Americans don't have any pride, 3000 people have given their lives for our country.

3000 Americans dead. That's 3000 more then there should've been.

Well, it is, with an asterisk.

Many people think this war is illegal, or just plain foolish. In their opinion, since it was wrong, the soldiers that have died have died in vain. They feel so strongly against the President that they can't see anything good in the war.

Now, I am not agreeing with them, I am just letting you in on their mindset. Hope this helps.

Why does the news not show these numbers? They would have people believe the rivers are choked with our dead. They would have us believe this is the worst death toll in all history.
