No, it only gets worse from there. If you forgive him, the fact that you forgave him will ultimately confirm that he can disrespect you again and again - even if it is not always physical. There is no excuse for a man to hit a woman during a discussion.

I'm going to painfully honest with you on this one: no. There's absolutely NO reason to put up with abuse such as this, boyfriend, husband or whatever. Get out of this relationship. I speak from my own experience being in an abusive marriage and having woke up to the fact that my wife was not going to stop the verbal mental and, yes, even physical abuse (don't laugh; this happens to guys more than you might think). There are plenty of lonely guys out there who are more deserving of your time and affection.

I would fogive my man if my man were my husband and we were inlove...but i would not forgive an ex or just a boyfriend.
as for you...wow 5 years is so long to be in a relationship , was the "discussion" and "FUSS"....because there is a big difference...
in his eyes if u love him..u will forgive him and yall can use this to make your relationship grow stronger....infact I have more to say about this.. im me nicky70517

There are too many variables to give a definitive answer. the knee-jerk reaction is that hitting is never acceptable, and it isn't. But the question is should you forgive him.
I would consider the following:
Has he ever hit you before?
Has he hit anyone else?
what caused him to get that angry?
Did he apologize/show remorse immediately?
Perhaps you could forgive, but don't forget.

NOPE you kick him to the curve stop letting men think its ok to hit women let me tell you hes nothing but a jerk you better not forgive him move on and get something better then that
