I hated eating cottage cheese when I went over and stayed with my mom's friend while they were away on a trip! You couldn't leave the table until you finished eating EVERYTHING!

I was aroung 8 yrs old, at a local street fair with my family... my mom handed me something on a stick and said, "Here, try this."
"What is it?" I asked.
"Just try it."
"What is it?" I asked again, suspiciously.
"You don't have to like it, just *try* it."
I nibbled at the pale, rubbery meat. Not very appealing. "Okay, so what is it?"
"Veal brains!" my mother cheerfully replied.

UGH!

Oatmeal, oh how I hated it. My aunt started on the saying eat it or wear it, and my mom soon picked up on that phrase. Needless to say me and my cousins wore many bowls of oatmeal upside down on our heads. It got to the point where I started pouring the bowl over my own head, thought why postpone the inevitable. My father didn't see it that way an he finally gave it to me good, mom dumped the oatmeal from then on. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I had 8 brothers and sisters, and we were extremely poor growing up. We ate whatever was put before us, otherwise, we didn't eat. So, I don't remember a worse food, because any food at all was good.

my mothers cooking.

In her cook book all vegetables are cooking by leaving them in a pan of salted boiling water for about 45 minutes.

Not nice.

My dad also made cauliflower cheese every Friday night. Bland and boring!

Beef tripe! The lining to a cow's stomach! Liver sounds great compared to that!

My parents didn't feed my siblings and me food that we hated nor did they insist we eat everything on our plates. They made sure we had enough to eat and enjoyed the food.

Liver and lima beans. My dad used to make us eat those...then finally my mom but her foot down and we didn't have to eat it after that. To this day I won't eat either of them....totally grosses me out!
