Orville Redenbacher's popcorn is made in Indiana but I can't think of any other food that is associated with Indiana let alone Indianapolis. Good luck

This wasn't "invented" in Indiana but my grandmother always called it Hoosier Stew.

Cut some potatoes into bite size pieces (peel them first if you want but you don't have to) and put in a pan with enough water to cover them. Cut up a pack of smoked sausage and add to the pot. Bring to a boil and then simmer until the potatoes are almost done then add a can of green beans. (If you add the green beans at the beginning they turn to mush by the time the potatoes are done) Also use onion and black pepper to taste.

This isn't really traditional "party food" but it could be a nice hot filler food for the party. There really isn't a cut and dried recipe for this so you'll just have to kind of eyeball the amounts depending on the number of people you have at the party. You can also serve this in two ways: all together in a bowl or seperated on a plate so you can mash up the potatoes and add butter. Even if you don't make it for the party, try it for supper sometime, it's really good!

"There's more than corn in Indiana." But not in the invented foods side. There is food processing but....flour, baking powder and canned tomatoes are kind of boring theme foods.

My personal suggestion is to go with Colts themed food. Things like: "No Horse Meat Chili"; "Horseshoe (or Hoosier) Hotdogs"; "Colts Cold Drinks", "Bust the Bears B-B-Que". Things like that. Have fun with it. The more outlandish the better.

Make sure and let me know where you at. I love to eat!
