What your friend needs, is high energy, low fat foods. here's a recipe for something that will work wonders.......

Chocolate meringues with cherry ripple

Ingredients
4 egg whites
pinch of salt
225g/8oz golden caster sugar
1 tsp cornflour
½ tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp white wine vinegar
25g/1oz cocoa powder
425g/15oz can pitted black cherries in syrup
200g/7oz carton fat-free fromage frais

Method
1.Preheat the oven to 140C/275F/Gas 1.
2. Whisk the egg whites with the pinch of salt until very stiff. Gradually add the sugar to make a stiff, shiny mixture. Stir together the cornflour, vanilla and vinegar and whisk in. Sift over the cocoa then whisk in.
3. Spoon 12 oval shapes onto two baking sheets lined with silicone or Teflon paper. Bake for 45 minutes until the outer shell is crisp but the centre still feels a little soft. Carefully peel off the paper and leave to cool.
4. Meanwhile, drain the cherries, pouring the syrup into a small saucepan. Bring the syrup to a boil and bubble rapidly for 7-8 minutes until thick. Set aside to cool.
5. Stir the cherries into the fromage frais. Spoon the mixture onto six of the meringues, then drizzle over the thickened syrup. Cover with the remaining meringue halves and serve soon.

Hope you and your friend enjoy!!!

Chocolate, obviously... then anything that's greasy, like chips, or burgers (vegeburgers perhaps preferable...) Junk food that you'd normally forbid yourself from binging on is perfect... of course, homecooking would be sweet to offer, if you have any speciality dish then make it for her to show you care, then finish off with some Hagen Daz... go out and choose a film with her maybe too, possibly something with a lot of mindless action? Play it by ear of course... you don't want to get any film that'll remind her of the split.

Well, for starters, you need ice cream. Many different flavours, straight from the carton with a spoon.

You also need chocolate. Lots. Fancy. When you have enough, go get more.

Coffee too. (partly to keep you awake to listen while she cries and pours her heart out)

And finally, carbs make you feel good. Cereal, bread, crackers, chips....don't know why, but they're a good thing.

Anything warm with a lot of carbohydrates, such as a potato bake, pie...that sort of thing...pie always cheers me up. Ooooo and don't forget those lovely melt in the middle chocolate desserts from M&S for afters!! They are just so warm and rich, it will sure put her mind off her ex, even if it is just that few minutes of pleasure! All the best! xo

Get some salt and vinegar chipstick crisps and put them in a sandwich........always a winner.

Or a more expensive alternative - you know that new Gu dessert range? Get a pack of the chocolate and vanilla cheesecakes......they're absolutely heavenly!
