Did you have a health guarantee? Those guys are really expensive, I'd go back to the breeder and request that THEY have the autopsy performed at their expense. If you go have the autopsy performed, at least you could get a reason and may be in a position to have the breeder replace your baby.

I'm not making light of the life you lost, it's tragic, but I'd want to know why and how, and I'd want to know if it was something that was wrong before you obtained the baby.

Necropsy is the animal term for (human) Autopsy.

Along with a host of physical maladies that could have killed your bird ...
The most deadly household agents:

Air freshers of any type: spray, candles, plugins.
Cooking on Teflon or other polymer emulsion pans (link below).
Cigarette, cigar, or any other smoke.
Cleaning products such as ammonia, Pine Sol, 409, etc.
Carbon monoxide.

A real shame, I hope you're able to track down the reason your bird died.

There are a variety of reasons why and you may never know unless you have an autopsy done. It isn't called an autopsy for birds but I can't remember at this moment exactly what it is called, but they cost money but may well be worth it to know in case you plan on getting another bird!!!! Sorry for you loss it isn't easy to lose something you care about. Good Luck
