I would like to purchase one at the best price possible, and Ebay seems to have the best prices, but I am worried that I will get a knockoff instead of real thing.

They probably are, but what they're called "diverted" goods. It's the same thing when you walk into a Target store and find Aveda shampoos. Aveda doesn't sell to Target, so what Target did is to purchase the products from someone who was allowed to sell Aveda products. To the manufacturer, "diverted" goods are considered "stolen." If something were to go wrong with your dryer, you'd need proof of purchase to honor any manufacturer's warranty and eBay won't cut it. If you're okay with that, then purchase it on eBay. If not having the warranty valid does bother you, shop around for legit places.

Only the seller of the item can tell you if it is genuine or not.
